Cattle Comfort
Cattle Comfort Index Information
Cattle Comfort Index (CCI) is calculated by adjusting the air temperature using relative humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation to approximate hot and cold levels an animal is dealing with physiologically. It does not take into account precipitation and is not designed to predict apparent temperature for animals with wet hair coats. Non-acclimated or sick animals should be evaluated using the Newborn CCI. Acclimated adults with proper nutrition follow the Adult CCI values. Values are reported in degrees Fahrenheit.
